How exactly do those work? I've seen them on the website, but haven't in person yet.

Seems more complicated in operation than the Strapless Stand?

    Re: No more straps

I'm not familiar with the Strapless Stand, The reason I like this one is that I can load and unload the bike by myself.

Once you do it a couple of times its pretty simple.

    Re: No more straps

The strapless is kinda like that - a two pillar bracket that bolts to the trailer floor. You roll the bike in between the pillars then stick a rod through either the swingarm or rear axle, which locks into the pillars.

    Re: No more straps

Ralph....actually the pit bull stand is easier than the strapless ones. We did research before we bought 3 of them this year. You hook the pins on before you even roll the bike into the trailer and then simply lock into place....they are VERY nice!! Once you have the base mounted you can move bikes wherever as long as you have the pins. Its nice not ot have straps anymore and pulling down on the suspension and possibility of causing fork seals to leak (which happened to me twice last year....UGGGGH.)
I highly recommend the Pit Bull stands...very nice, great quality, and easy to install and use.
    GOOD CHOICE!!

    Re: No more straps

I love my ST Strapless Stands so I understand about no straps and the worries.

The ST's are also extremely easy to use. Either way can't go wrong.

    Re: No more straps

Bastards stole my idea! I've been pondering for a while now on using the hollow axles to secure the bike. gonna have to look at it and see how I can circumvent the patent!

Glad to see this stuff though.

    Re: No more straps

Cool wahoo, thanks for the info! Any reason it wouldn't work with a dirt bike? For the Vegas to Reno race this summer, it might be better to use something like that, especially given the long distance driving and lack of time we will have to fix leaking seals.

    Re: No more straps

    Ralph,

So long as it has a hollow axle there is no reason it shouldn't work.

I have ST stands in my trailer right now and am very pleased with how they work. We can just get the right pin for the XR

    Re: No more straps

Pitbull is still working on the R6 pins.....they are sending me another one. The factory is where the problem lies they say....the axle hole is just slightly different on bikes. They want the fit as tight as it can be but still go in and out. They are machinging me another one to try since mine was to tight to go in. They did warn me of this and wanted my feedback....so once the new one arrives we will see what happens.
Either way you go strapless stands are GREAT and better for the bike and easier for you! Well worth the money considering the time and $$ to replace seals.

    Re: No more straps

If you have an 2003...like your sig states for the track.....they might not fit. That is what I have right now. If you are ordering on Monday---and you will be in Pueblo this weekend...swing by the pits and you can see mine and try them on your R6 (if you have it there). They called me ahead of time and told me they were having issues, but mainly with older R6s. THey didn't fit, but called them and they are making me a "special" one. For this weekend I took the one they sent and ground it down myself which will work just fine....then get the "nice" one probably by Monday.
