    Rider Down

    Me.
    Wrist broken in two places.
Will likely need surgery - will know more in next couple of days.
Gear saved me from a much broader range of damage - especially my head.

Unknown damage to bike other than it lost all its oil out of the engine on impact and I cracked off the left side foot peg.
...Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

Vance, why so sparse with the details man? If it is due to embarrassment, suck it up. If it is due to a possible law suit, we were not involved. If it is to protect the innocent, spill the beans and go to confession.

Heal up quickly man. Wrist injuries are for life. I hope your is 100% recoverable

Vance, heal quickly. If you need anything, drop me a line. Of course you'll have to pay for gas seeing as I live at least 3 min away.

    Bummer Vance.
If it's your 'firendly' hand there go your plans for a healthcare job in New Zealand.

Wrist injuries can be pretty slow in healing, but on the upside, you have all winter to recoup.

If you need any help just holla.
(Help with the bike or whatever that is. Not with a 'friendly' helping hand.)

    Re: Rider Down

Sorry for the lack of details - its just very difficult for me to type one handed... and yesterday was a lot of searing pain as i hadn;t gotten my prescription filled yet... and the two percocet in me now are rally not helping my literary capacities.

    Anyway...

My wrist is broken in two places after my crash – one of them apparently in a bad enough spot I will need to consult an orthopedic surgeon to see if I need to get pins or such to aid in the healing process. I’m going to do that today hopefully.

    The “official” diagnosis is:

    • ·Right distal radius fracture

    • ·Right navicular fracture

    • ·Possible ligamnetous dispuption

As for the crash details - I never made it out of my work's parking lot when I got tagged by two wind sheers - one that hit me square on enough to make me lose control of the bike - and the second that as best as i can describe it - "threw" me off the bike and onto my wrist and back.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and such. I will eventually need some help recovering the bike then diagnosing how bad the damage is... but that's for another day.

BTW Bob - were you riding SB 25 last evening hitting the Park Ave - 20th stretch around 6:15 pm? I think you passed my broke ass in the ride home I was getting.

I left Boulder around 5:45, so that probably was me.

    Re: Rider Down

I'm no doctor but I will advise yo uas if I were. Get that thing pinned man. And do EVERYTHING your PT's tell you to and get that wrist back to normal. You would be suprised at how a wrist injury will effect the quality of your life.

Glad you did not suffer any major injuries bud. Heal up, enjoy the drugs, and tell the girl that BJ's make the world go 'round
