    Saturday ride, 10/25

I'm thinking of the 2 days this weekend, Saturday is probably going to be our winner.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 70. West northwest wind between 10 and 18 mph.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. North wind between 3 and 10 mph.

This will probably be the last ride I do this year, as my grip warmers are still on backorder anyway. Contrary to my traditional weekend riding schedule and in the interest of everyone's safety and comfort (not to mention those who might be hung over,) let's plan on meeting at the Conoco on 120th and I-25 at 0915, with kickstands up somewhere around the 0945 mark. I am taking Jeff's advice and embracing my inner "ish" on this one.

It will be kinda chilly in the morning, so come dressed and prepared for the occasion. I will also reiterate that this is a gear-required ride (unless of course you are of the attractive female gender, then I will allow you to walk around in your birthday suit for awhile before we depart. )

What are the roads like in the mountains? peak-to-peak, st.vrain, coal creek, etc? I'm interested in a long ride in the mountains (I've got all day), but would prefer to stay away from the gravel on the roads.

Let's just hope they don't suck TOO bad. I'd rather not ride in gravel either.

I recommend staying off of Coal Creek. I rode it last Saturday. TONS of gravel on the high section. P-to-P was good, and 7 was pristine.

Coal Creek had gravel on it about a month ago, too. Haven't ridden it since.

As long as Officer Robinson and Barney Fife don't feel like being dickheads, I say we include 7 as part of teh route.

Rode P2P, Boulder Canyon, Hwy 7 and 6-clear creek (down) on Saturday and they were clean. Rode 6-clear creek (up) - clean. Rode Golden Gate down and there was a little bit of sand on both sides in a few areas closer to the bottom.

I did see Officer Robinson going through the round-about at Nederland on Saturday tho...
