What do you do all Winter????
What I KNOW. Is that motorcycles have bonded a great many people. We have friends here. We have people that trust us individualy. We have people that will celebrate with us.

Yeah winter pretty much sucks... Although i've been skiing since '96, It doesn't make my heart beat quite as hard and fast as my Silver 600cc princess! LOL ( But, i still ride a couple times a week during the winter time)

Funny, but true and maybe a tad sad story...
After divorce, I would meet people here and there...and they'd get stuck for a while, but it was all superficial...they'd come and go. Nothing ever really lasting. Not until this place. I had a hard time conforming. I was so used to being left behind and alone. I figured it would always be just me and my bike. I'm still a bit stunned when I meet people here that they're still around a few months down the road...it's sometimes unnerving only because I don't expect it and they're put off because they don't understand that I can't believe the ride is real, exciting, and more often than not, with people I've known for more than just a short while.
I miss the ride in Winter, but I don't miss the people, because they never disappear. They enjoy the anticipation of Spring just as much as I do. In that commonality, I've actually been able to maintain some amazing friendships and wouldn't change it for the world.
So, what do I do while I play during the infrequent warm days in Winter? I hang out with like-minded people and dream together in anticipation of the rides in Spring and Summer.
My motorcycle means more than the ride in the twisting mountain canyons to me...to me, it means community.

There's an off season?? I plan to get out as long as the roads are clear and dry and above freezing-ish, even if it's a short run to charge up the battery and a cup of coffee.
For me it's time also for planning those longer trips next season, surfing for farkles on line, and hopefully getting some work done on the cafe bike.
Plus CSC becomes the ski/board club .. so keep posting those trips to the slopes and I'll try to make a few.

Here is what I have done so far and still have to continue into spring.
Fun stuff.
Otherwise, riding bikes is everything to me. It means that I am control on where I go and what I do. Riding bikes for me has cleared problems out of my head, and have given me an ear to ear smile for many miles. It gives me the independence that I need on those few hundred mile trips in one day. In other words, motorcycles kick ass.
It means living in Motel 6, eating at McDonald's at 2:00 A.M., running out of diesel on Donner Pass, standing in the California sun for hours on end trying to sell MC gear, talking with racers, taking pictures with umbrella girls, eating a bag of peanuts on Southwest Airlines, sleeping in a toy hauler (like I'm doing now), washing laundry in a washer that doesn't agitate, listening to someone snore all night, helping my friends to win championships--even if I'm not there, seeing my parents more than I'd be able to if I had a "regular" job, being on the road for three months, not seeing my dog, Mishka, for three months, visiting with old friends in far away cities, touring the White House, standing with other vendors in NYC in the rain, living in my friend's basement, taking Total Control II--in three hours, eating too many Oreos, rebuilding crankcases at midnight, fixing trailer tires at 2:00 A.M., watching Moto GP at Laguna Seca and Indy with my friends, riding my bike through a blizzard in Utah to get to Race Tech, in CA for school, designing and selling cutom motorcycle gear, teaching MSF classes, girls, DRAMA, more girls, asking Keith Code, "Why?", asking my boss, Lee, "Why did Keith say that?", asking for more in times of less, going broke, having fun on the road being a broke-ass motorcycle guy.
And the list goes on (sung to the beat of Sonny and Cher's, "And the beat goes on."

Motorcycle = freedom and fun.
This is my first winter ever that I couldn't ride all winter without thinking about road conditions.
The closest thing to immortality on this earth is a Federal government program - RR
I ride my Scooter to work every day, no matter the temp, when the snows not to deep. That helps a lot. It seams that a few days a month, it will get over 45 for a few hours and the roads are clear, the Duck will come out for a short trip. Even a strait line ride will push the winter blues away for a day or two.
Nov 07 and Jan 08 respectively. March 08 220 mile ride to Sheridan WY. Some times we don't get much snow. Just cold.
