I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

Very good sounding bike, and it looks quite nice in that matte(ish) finish.

Darn. When I saw your Multistrada on here last week, I started buying Powerball tickets. I wanted your bike.

Oh well, congratulations on the new ride. Very Cool.

Thanks all... definitely weird being back on a proper sport bike. The Multi is an amazing machine and I'll miss the range and versatility that bike had. However, there's a certain fun factor w/ the v4 that hit hard. Oh... and that sound! GRRRRRRRR

Wait, I thought you didn't want to move a bike cross country? Or was that just a self-justification to get a new ride?

Looks really cool! I don't know much about those bikes, but it sure seems like a crappy off-road moto.

    I was wondering that myself.

Re: ding dong the duc is gone...

^^ Well, that was plan 1.

If the bike had sold, I would not have replaced it until I knew for sure what the job situation was going to be. In the mean time, I've been talking to a friend on the east coast and they want me to bring their bike (that is still in CO) out with me if I go. Once that was established I figured "what the hell"!

New plan is to pay this sucker off ASAP and go in search of a new sport-tourer/do all/ pack mule type bike.

Isn't that what you just had?

Not trying to get on your case. The new bikes looks great and I hope you enjoy the hell out of it.

    Yes and no...

I wouldn't mind having another multistrada, but not one with constant electrical gremlins and random shit breaking for absolutely no reason. While everything was fixed under warranty, I was tired of the headaches that bike brought me. If I were to go down that path again, it would be a 1200, not an "s" model.

I've said it before, when the Multi was right, it was VERY right, but when it was off, there was no middle ground. The 1200s was cool w/ the electronic suspension and wireless tech. But all that comes at a cost... I want something I can jump on and not worry whether or not it will get me where I need to go.

who knows... Motorcycles are kind of like Baskin Robbins... You're looking at 31 flavors of ice cream, don't you kind of want to know what they all taste like?

Probably look for something lighter than the multi as well. Maybe along the WeeStrom/Tiger 800/F800GS vein.
