    Re: Airplane in the Hudson

Dare I ask, what's in the plane?

LHR has a separate department that deals with birds. You know, with bird dogs and other scary stuff to keep birds away from the runway.

I always crack up when, during the pre-flight safety instructions, they say "in the unlikely event of a water-landing..."

    I'm like, water-landing?!? Wouldn't that be a CRASH?!!

Geez, lookit how many right-wingers it takes to balance out the few bloated left-wingers!

Man, amazing job by the pilot! That thing looks almost entirely intact! If I didn't see it, I wouldn't believe it. I would have thought there'd be WAY more damage.

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Two airliners crashed in a month and not a single fatality... That has to be unheard of.
