If you ride the speed limit chances are others in cars are going faster so they'll be coming up from behind you. Better chance of being seen. I, personally, think local roads with stop lights and all are much more dangerous than the highway where you have tons more room to work with.

Re: THE NOOB RIDE!!! - Sunday May 3rd

Believe me by the time the wife got there, she be ready to come home.
    1) Her seat makes her ass sore
    2) A long ways for a non seasoned rider (hardly newbie material)
    3) She was ready to kill me just doing my loop (I25 to US24 to 67 to 105)

***I'm not knocking the ride, just saying in our case, too far

Edited to say: I Street & Tripped it, 55.5 miles one way (110 miles) and figure what another 100 miles on the ride? Yeah that be out of her comfort zone. Got to remember guys, wifes' sometimes do what we love because we love that sport/thing not because they do.

Hence why I have put most of the miles on "HER" bike.

I'm guessing that there is generally just the one noob ride every year? Bummed since I'll be up at work for this one....

There generally is just this one. But last year I got the crazy idea and organized a second one later in the season. I might change it up this season and do a noob sport touring ride in the mountains, there are too many good roads besides the front range, P2P etc.

For years someone has stepped up and taken ownership of the noob ride and I personally thank Brian for taking it on the last couple of years. That being said, lets not clutter up this thread with random stuff. For that I've created a new thread that should be pretty easy to find.

    Thanks

We have had a second ride later in the year in the past, and there's nothing that says we can't do it again this year.
