    Talking Steamboat Ride 5/16

    Greetings,

I usually hang with the CFRSR gang up in Fort Collins, but have been a few rides with y'all too. We're planning a ride from Fort Collins, to Steamboat and back and we'll be buzzing through Golden on the way if anyone wants to hook up for a thousand-turn day. We rode this route last year and it took 10-11 hours. Riders of all levels will be on this, but keep in mind that it does take a LONG time to do it and we were very, very tired by the end of the day last year. I think it was about 550 miles or something like that (we take the long way 'round...no maps of the route will be posted for obvious reasons, but they will be handed out to riders the day of the ride). So far we've got about 6 or 7 riders committed for this year. Come on out and meet a bunch of great people (and solid riders).

We'll be riding through Golden at about 9:30 am on the 16th and will stop at the Loaf-N-Jug if anyone else wants to go. If you live in Denver and decide to go, you'll be back home at about 8:00 pm or so. We do stop to eat a few times, so bring some funds. Maximum millage between gas stops is right at 90-100 miles.

This is one of the best rides of the year...I hope some of you can make it Post up here if you can so we'll have an idea for planning purposes (maps, different level groups if needed, number for lunch reservations, etc...)

I would be in on this, its all about the weather that weekend. If we have a good high preasure system then Ill be there. What are you guys riding . Did this route last year with the wife, easy 550 mile trip. Did a few 500 plus rides last year with the sport bikes, 114 near gunn., steamboat, indy.

Mostly sportbikes and a tard or two. Yeah...550 miles is not too bad, but we usually ride pretty "spirited" and it makes you tired by the end of the day.

all the more reason for you to make an appearance.
i missed last years actual steamboat ride.
went to pull the bike out in the morning and found a small sliver of steel that had invaded and flattened my tire overnight.

i was pissed to say the least.
we had attempted the ride a little earlier in the month, but that was a justifiably terrible day.
    .

i agree with bueller. weather is a big factor

A chance of going to The Boat will supersede any n00b ride. But I'll most likely do both. I'll just get my ya-ya's out the day before the n00b ride.

Btw how 'spirited' is the ride? Should I dust of my suit or would I be the only one in the monkey suit?

Almost all of us wear full leather. Monkey suits are normal.
