Saw One of These Yesterday on HWY 24

I had no idea what this bike looked like in real life until yesterday. This is the first cruiser I have seen on the street and said, "I would actually buy one of those and ride it." I am not even going to look for prices because from what I hear it's out of control.

Hope your not short cause I know I can't reach the shifter on that bike without sitting on the tank.

Don't go to the dark side.. come back, we have cookies!

Srsly though, not a bad looking bike, but I'd rather go with the 2004 Street Rod version; mid controls, raised suspension and superbike bars. One of the few HDs I'd consider for riding to bike nights.

There's something about being on a cruiser that scoots.

The bad thing about them is that it's a huge bike with a tiny battery. The battery is smaller than my R6. You have to keep the thing on a battery tender all of the time.

That's a nice looking bike! I still prefer the look of the Vmax for that type of bike though (except for the hideous exhaust):

My nephew has one of these in Northern Italy. He rides it on the local mountain roads and loves it.

I looked into the VRod when the insurance company totaled my SV. Good lines (the one I looked at had some kind of turbo thingy) but pricey: $27,000. Minus $20,000 and I have a new SV.

I have rode the V Rod. Was the smoothest Harley I have ever rode; reminded me of a jet. Pretty cool.

But I'll stick with my Busa

Re: Saw One of These Yesterday on HWY 24

A buddy of mine bought a V Rod Muscle, last year. Very sharp bike and that fact that his wife's dad was a former Harley dealer I think helped with his "discounted" price. They list for $18k and I think he was able to snag it for around $11k. Very nice bike and for a cruiser, it's zippy. He's had no problem getting it up to 120mph 130mph ish.

Can't say as I'd buy a Harley sport cruiser(they are nice). If I had my choice I'd rather have the Yamaha Warrior, in all black

I am with you on the Yamaha. That is the second cruiser I would buy. There is/was one at Apex just like that.

I rode a Street Rod a couple of years ago and it was an appealing bike if I ever get tired of sportbikes. It's the same thing as the V Rod, but the pegs are directly underneath like on a sportbike and it sits a little higher giving more clearance for corning hard. Not that I'd try to ever corner hard on it...

About the only HD I actually like, the nightrod and streetrod.

Woody had his streetrod out a couple years ago on a group ride and pretty much took off through Golden Gate Cyn and left a group of 30+ sportbikes behind haha.

Yeah, it does sound awesome. Nothing like a V-4 with a 180 crank.
