Not too much, if only I had knobby tires. I got to this point and gave up. The elevation change get a little too drastic for my tread.

I miss San Fran. I dunno why it is, but I just love visiting my birth city. One of these years, I'll get my ass out there again and head north of San Fran up to the Oregon coast. I still haven't seen northern CA.
Yeah, sorta It is a very beautiful place, in many areas, but I'd trade it in for Denver right now.

I've only been about an hour north of SF on HWY 1, and actually on my bike a few years ago. If I end up staying here and can afford another bike in the next year, I hope to ride up the coast into Canada. I'd love to ride to Whistler.

    Along P2P yesterday:

"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Re: Your bike + scenery photos

Did a little riding today up along P2P. Noticed that the paving that's going on in sections is getting further along. I was wondering what it will be like when all the paving is done from just past Blackhawk all the way to the hwy7 junction...

Anyhoo, if you've ever ridden slowly enough maybe you might have noticed the sign to the Brainard Lake area. This area is a fee area, but starting tomorrow, no more fee. Must be off season. The road does not get plowed in winter, but lots of people go up there for snowshoing and cross country skiing...it's a beautiful area.

Had to stop along my ride outside of Blackhawk and take a dirt road up into an "Estate" area before getting to Brainard Lake...

This is the view when you get to the end of the pine tree lined road to Brainard Lake...

When you take the road around the lake, you can branch off to the Long Lake trail head, or off to Mitchel Creek trail head...

Gotta slate this area for my calendar next year and do some hiking.

A few from today. The old bike is an antique Velocette I spotted in Lyons.
