Got a buddy that just got out of UCCS on a MechE degree and has been on the job hunt since May with no results. I can have his resume in my hands within a 1/2 day... just curious if there were any leads out there?

Really, there is a huge need for CE's right now. Doing highway design, traffic design, wind farms, wetlands, airports, RTD work, TONS of stuff. It is hard finding dedicated CE's and companies are paying WELL. Paying for continued training, certifications, you name it.

There's some uptick in the EPCM industry as well. Our clients in oil-gas seem to have money and projects planned for January. Then of course the beer companies. We still have a hiring freeze but if it changes I'll post up here.

I'm in Oil/Gas myself right now, things are always running 110%. Good job security at least. I do hate DOT though.
Jeff do you mean Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management? Got a buddy who graduated from Mines in May in MechE and had to take a job like that. He budgets electrical substation jobs down to the bolt and hates his job.
