    Nice Restaurant

Looking for a nice place to eat for a romantic dinner tonight. Looking to stay in Westminster/Thorton/Arvada-ish. Will go further, but it would be best closer. Would like to keep it under $40/plate. Just want a good atmosphere and tasty food.

    Any tips?

I was just remembering Le Central today. It means something like common French Food, but it's dam good!!!!

Oh yeah, what about Carmines on Penn????????

It's located downtown Denver. With a $40/plate charge max, there would be plenty of room to include the wine with their prices!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I get to eat in phoenix are Tacos & Burritos!!!!

You used to live in Boulder right Sean? John's restaurant on Pearl is fantastic. Very cozy / romantic and the food is to die for. You need reservations though. I haven't been there in a 3-4 years, but I imagine it's still good.

The Foie Gras and the Filet Mignon was exquisite.

I highly recommend this place for a great romantic dinner.

I'm plenty far away from C/B. But if we go, it's not to far away from Alibi's?

These are great ideas! And yes, I'm ignoring the usual hooters/shotguns comments.

    Re: Nice Restaurant

Home made Caesar salad with or without anchovies
A small lime sorbet pallet cleanser
    Steak Dianne with brandy/mushroom/shallot reduction
    Garlic Ranch smashed spuds
Broccoli and cauliflower with some lemon pepper, steamed
    Bananas Foster for desert.

Served with a Cabernet Sauvignion Blanc with dinner and a Barrows 20 year Tawney Port after desert.

Do it, it is easy and you will LOVE it! If you want recipes and help, let me know.

I think we are open. Like I said, she's not into seafood, otherwise everything is pretty fair game.

Le Central is a great idea. Also think about Village Bistro in Westminster.

Must be coming up on the one year mark!

Do it. You guys will love it.

Carmine's is another one of my favs, but it's more of a family style place. LOTS of food for just 2 people. Unless you share a dish.

Damn... I was gonna say, isn't there a Pappadeaux up in that neck?

They have a few different items, but it still may not go over well though, with her general dislike with seafood. I'd still probably go, but that's just me.

    Re: Nice Restaurant

Red Square Bistro in Writer's Square downtown is really really good! It's Russian food which will be good on a cool day like today. We usually split the dumplings as an apetizer, split the stroganoff as an entre, and split a bottle of wine as well. Usually rolls in around $75 after tip. By the way, the stroganoff sports the best steak I may have had anywhere in my life. When you think stroganoff, you don't usually think of a whole steak, but this will change that much for the better!

(also, if you like vodka, they've got some damn good infused vodkas there! )
