Colorado State Patrol say a motorcycle rider was killed in an accident that happened about 3:00 p.m. Sunday on Officers say the motorcycle rider was going southbound on Highway 285, crossed into the northbound lanes and was hit by an oncoming pickup truck that was pulling a trailer. The motorcycle rider died at the scene. No one in the pickup truck was injured.
Officers say a separate accident happened earlier in the day on Kenosha Pass. A motorcyclist pulled in front of a pickup truck. The driver and passenger on the motorcycle had to be air lifted from the scene.
Colorado State Patrol is warning drivers to be extra cautious on the roads in the mountains. They say this is always a busy time of year, but with nice weather, more people are driving to see the leaves change and drivers need to use caution to keep the roads safe.




FAIRPLAY - Authorities say one person was airlifted after an accident involving three vehicles shut down Highway 285 for a short time on Sunday.



Colorado State Patrol says there was an accident involving a car, a truck and a motorcycle near mile marker 203. The highway was shut down around noon and reopened at about 1 p.m.
There is no word on the conditions of the people involved.
