    Oh.
    My.
    Gawd.

I'm scared enough of dropping that thing, and to PURPOSELY put it in a position that you will crack those dam-expensive "handguards" WHEN you fall down in the snow/ice is CRAZY.

Of COURSE I want to do it now!

What's everybody's favorite response to... "Aren't you COLD?!?"

My only clever response is "No, that's why man invented clothes."
But it's not good enough... I need a new one.

I just say "No" and walk away to much effort otherwise cause they don't get it anyway.

Several....rear 130/80 for the KLRs, DR650s and BMW F650s can be used as a front, the 150/70 for the BMW R bikes can be used as a rear. The Conti TKC 80s are popular for this kind of thing...

How do them studs handle in the dry, on my car they scare me to death sometime on the on/off ramps. I could see the benefits of them if if would be snowy all the time, but dunno my next bike I am wanting it to be a kinda multi-use dual sport all arounder but I am leaning int he direction on having multiple wheels for the bike and just swap them as I want for the use I intend. The driving on steel here has got my attention but only on snow/icy condition what about the dry?

You just need a better stud snow tire, because mine grip great on dry roads.

The rally studs like the ones on the Duc would absolutely terrify me on pavement. The studs that I used for Ralph's VStrom are a lot less aggressive, and according to him, don't handle badly on the street. That being said, they are noticeable, you're not gonna drag a knee on dry pavement, but they don't skate all over if you lean a little, and the ice traction is pretty good.

awe man! Thanks for the heart disease TFOG

    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40950286...lth/?gt1=43001

If you don't crash and die from lack of traction, your other option is heard disease from using studs.

I knew I should have just stuck with cigarettes and called it good.

IRC GP-1. It's what I have on my 250. Even without studs, they're offer all kinds of grip in the snow/ice. Well, compared to a BT45...

Also, I've come to terms with the fact that I'm not a winter rider, for I have not the moulla for the gear to make me want to ride below 40F, ever again....

40F is warm...All I have are summer rain gloves, those bar over mitts and layers underneath my gear, and my threshhold is like 25F
