    Vintage Moto Museum (pics)

Until recently I wasn't aware of a a vintage motorcycle museum here in Denver. It's a private collection of around 200 bikes ranging from 1933 - 2008, and it's all hidden away in a basement. You'd never think twice to walk by and not give the building another look. For those of you that want to visit go to www.vintagemotos.com. I definitely encourage those of you that are local to have a look. The owner of the bikes is a character that couldn't be more willing to spend time chatting with you.

While I know virtually nothing about bikes of such a vintage...as a motorcycle enthusiast it is of course very interesting. From a technology standpoint its hard to believe both how far advanced some of the designs were, and just how impressive the tech we have in today's bikes.

I've uploaded about half the pics I took to my flickr gallery.

I took quite a lot of detail pics...here they are. (More of them in the Flickr gallery.)

The swingarm also doubles as the exhaust pipe. The engine is mounted to the swingarm/exhaust and thus pivots with the swingarm. Both the front and rear use single sided swing arms.

I was surprised I didn't know about it either!

I recognize both of those bikes from the museum. :-)

It's definitely worth checking out if you're in to bikes. Especially going in to winter. It's a great way to spend a few hours.

Nice pics, Andy. I've been by the place, but never had a chance to stop. Maybe this winter Blake and I will make a visit.
