Do you plan on going on to complete a bachelors?
Before I got into IT, I did commercial real estate management. It was good because I did a little bit of everything from accounting to tenant evictions. If you're looking for diversity, avoid large corporations... Find a smaller company that will let you evolve and take on duties and responsibilities that you want.

Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.
Anything is hard to get hired into right now, however healthcare seems to be hiring steadily. Most professional jobs are office based, unless you're doing mobile work or outdoors/onsite type stuff. Why not go for something you're actually interested in? Unless you are specializing in a technical field, a general purpose degree won't have much bearing on your career path anyway.

I would love to work in forestry but hard to get into and poop pay. If I could pick something I'm passionate about I would be a very low paid individual.
Thought about health care, just not sure what I would pick. Thought about law but need a bachlors and want to get bach in something that would be good for back up or for main since law enforcement does not require a bach in criminal justice, no reason to get that degree

This is what helped me a BUNCH when I was a bit lost/distracted...
I flipped through the CSU Catalog and looked at all of the classes that were associated with each major. I picked the major that had the most classes that I was interested in, and it turned out to be a fantastic fit. All of the people in my major had my same interests and the professors had all worked in fields that were cool (to me).
Give it a shot.
Go Rams!

Colorado is not a good place right now for nurses at all. If you are willing to move, you can get paid well, but right now there is not a shortage like a few years ago. Plus yup, can't get in without a BS now. Even nurses already in are having to get a BS.
Healthcare, yeah right. That is what I do and it pays well and good job security, but I hate it. Sometimes I feel like a prisoner sitting in the same cell (cube) everyday with a bunch of stupid guards (bosses) telling me what to do when they have no idea what they are talking about. Healthcare equals tons of politics....been doing it 10 years now.

Sorry, couldn't resist...
I've been doing web dev for 10yrs and I want to Falcon Punch every single person that talks to me (I wasn't always this bitter, but they recently took away Pandora and Slacker so I'm hating life again)

Look into the Auto Industry. Try to get into sales or a service advisor.
Hell the service advisors at Lexus make upwards of 100g per year.
Good job security if you are good at keeping clients and making them happy.
If I had it to do over again, I would consider Physical Therapy. I've always had an interest in Sports Med. Becoming a PA would be even better.

I haven't met you Cat, so don't take this the wrong way - have you considered being a madam? If you focus on sport celebrities in Denver, you could have good job security, nice pay and good fringe benefits (rink side, court side and field side seats/executive box seats anyone?). You have the opportunity to work with lots of different people and get out too!
Or, if you want boring, you can go for something you love doing. I chose something I was good at for a field and it turns out that, after 20 years, I really struggle to enjoy it. It was never something I loved. Do what you love and the money will follow.
