Apparently he's leaving the Army in June and is coming to CSU, my alma mater. I really hope I can meet him whenever I get back to Colorado.

I applaude the guy for his very heroic actions and in no way think he doesnt deserve his award but I always wonder how many other soliders out there do the same thing or something similiar and never get noticed or recegonized for it. What a feeling to know that you did the same or close to action and never noticed for it. Just a thought
Sorry if this was a thread killer
Firefighters find them hot, leave them wet
It happens a lot. I'm in flight school with a bunch of warrant officers, many of them were prior enlisted with right around 10 years in service. Most of them have combat experience. There's a lot of gripe throughout the Army regarding awards. People get them who don't deserve them and people don't get them that deserve them. SSG Giunta definitely deserved this though.

Nah I don't think it's a thread killer. However I did see a interview with him and he addressed this concern head on, be basically said that he didn't deserve it more than a lot of people but his case was just well documented enough, and so he was awarded the Medal, and went on to say that he wore it for all of them. Though he was much more eloquent about it. Honestly he seems like a very impressive individual.
Though picking the OTHER Colorado University and not my alma mater does sour my opinion of him a bit, but I guess if you don't know any better......
I don't think he could handle the granola down there...
and he's from Iowa...which makes him even cooler!
