    Must have android Apps

Finally got my new phone, so much amazingly better than my old Blackberry. Prolly how the last cavemen felt when he looked up and all the other cavemen were eating meat cooked over a fire. My dumb a$$ was still eating raw meat and getting intestinal bugs.

Besides words with friends (funksouljon), what else do you people have/ like /use?

    MyTouch 4G.

Games cool. apps to make life easier cool. I travel pretty much every week so will download a "where the hell did I leave my car app".

    What else?

Yep, I've got Angry Birds. Here's some more that I use regularly:

Scanner Radio--you can listen to the police/fire/emergency radio of just about any city.

aCar--i got it to calculate my gas mileage/cost per mile. Keeps track of all your car expenses.

Key Ring--you can scan in all those reward/discount tags (anything with a barcode) and just bring it up on your phone when you want to use one instead of carrying around all those tags/cards

    Alchemy--fun game.

Google Pulls 21 Malware Apps From Android Market

Hugh Pickens writes writes "CNN reports that Google has pulled 21 free apps from the Android Market that, according to the company, are aimed at gaining root access to the user's device, gathering a wide range of available data, and downloading more code without the user's knowledge. Unfortunately although Google has moved swiftly to remove the apps, they have already been downloaded by at least 50,000 Android users. The apps are all pirated versions of popular games and utilities which once downloaded, root the user's device using a method like rageagainstthecage, then use an Android executable file (APK)

Thanks for the ideas people! Def have to spend some time this afternoon downloading some new apps.

jbnwc - Craigsnotifica - set up CL alerts ; that could end up costing a ton of money in little increments.

    +1

Android is very efficient at allocating memory and closing background apps when necessary. There has been no need for a task killer since Froyo.

    Re: Must have android Apps

From an app standpoint, I think the #1 must have is SquareUp - it let's you charge credit cards on supported devices. Free to signup and only 2.75% transaction fee - and they mail you a free card swiper.

That said, here's my comprehensive list of recommended must haves:

    Square
    DroidFTP
    ASTRO File Manager
    LauncherPro
    Beautiful Widgets
    SwitchPro
    GPS Tracker
    Google Sky Map
    Clear Sky Droid
    Google Voice
    Google Talk
    DirecTV (for remote scheduling)
Cubed (it's a bad ass music player)
