    Speaking of GoPro, school me...

I currently have the Hero SD. It's cheap and it works, so if I don't have a reason to upgrade, I won't. Are the HD Hero cams that much better? Other than the picture-quality upgrade of the 1080, or even the 960 if I go with the lower-end one, why should I get rid of my SD Hero and go with the HD version?

I just got mine, and have only had this one, I choose this one mainly for the price I got but having the option of 720p @ 60 fps I hear is a good thing, also this one has the Battery PAC option and LCD PAC options which seem like something id be interested in later on. Just need to go get a 32 gig SD card here soon.

the HD is super clear especially on a 1080p led tv, its almost like its real life all over again. you do have a different lense on the go pro so things are a little more of a "bowed look" since it does a 180 degree shot. other than that the sound is pretty good and theyre pretty durable!

I sold my SD to Will B and upgraded to HD after seeing Wicky's videos. 960 is more than enough IMO, and is razor sharp for most anything you post to YouTube. 1080 does give you the new rear pac option viewscreen but is not required.

Ha ha, one for each helmet. I miss riding with you too, my friend!

So, other than the picture quality, and the battery expansion/screen attachment on the 1080's, there's no need to upgrade to the HD at this time, correct? Or is there something else I'm missing?

My SD tends to drain the batts fairly quickly. How does yours hold up, Dave? Jeff, how's the rechargeable's battery life?

My HD had enough power to record 2hrs of tubing ... ok slightly less since I filled up one 4G card. I would think it can record a weekend's races (practice and a couple races) if you plug it in overnight at the track.
