    Maybe an older XT350? I have one, seat is lowish, can handle reasonable trail riding, cheap. I may be selling mine soon...

    The only drawback: Kick only, although I have literally started mine in socks...

    Could be. When you ride an XR650L, all bikes seem short. If I see a 230L at a decent price, I'll be tempted to get one.

    I can see not lowering a bike with say a 33" seat height, taking into account suspension sag. Any of the bikes above that would need lowering links for her to touch down. A KLR250 is in the front running right now.
