    Re: Noob Ride

I'll organize if no one else wants to. I'm thinking May 21. It's the weekend before Memorial Day and a week after I get back from Moab. I can use some collaboration on the route, though. 105 sounds good, but that's a little short, don't you think?

I'll amend my first post with the date.

Thanks for doing this Jason; you get my number one vote to fill these big shoes.

I get that you are thinking 105, but a peak-to-peak run would be a little longer and lunch at Oskar Blue's sounds amazing!

However, 105 would be a great run too. O'Mally's is great as well!

If it's on the 21st, count me out. I'd love to help out, but I'm racing that weekend. You may also want to check with Dave (Outlawd) to make sure he'll be free.

I should be free the 21st. Unless Mtnairlover and I plan a long ride, but will keep you in the loop as the date gets closer.

You may want to check the MRA schedule before planning this....

I'd be happy to lead or sweep but I'm out of town for the rifle range that weekend.

How about making PPIR your destination that day since you are planning on heading south? The MRA will be racing there that weekend. I will give the first 10 that sign up for the noob ride a free gate pass to get in and everyone after that a 2 for 1 voucher for half price.

I'm sure this could go off without a hitch, even without a day full of my sarcastic remarks...that being said I will be at the track during race weekends.

Was debating on either the MRA at PPIR that day or doing this noob ride. Sounds like I could kill both with one stone... and get a discount to boot!

Change me to a "mehbbe" I don't know if I will be down at PPIR already or not. A real noob can take my spot on the list and the free admission to PPIR. thanks Jimmy!

Re: CSC Annual Noob Ride - Sat. May 21

    Here's my two cents:
Keep it on the current date(21MAY), yes its a race weekend, but it's a noob ride and noobs typically don't race. Yes, it sucks that vetern riders cannot meet the new/noob riders, but that life. If you move it to the next weekend you are dealing with Memorial Weekend and the traffic associated with all the campers.

Keep the ride 2-3 with a lunch stop in a "larger" mountain city that can accomodate 50 plus riders.

Lock in the chalks/groups that go out by 15 minutes so they do not bottle neck up.

Have someone print out copies of the route to handout...there have been times the route was not undersood by everyone. On the other side of the paper print out the lead riders phone numbers/key hand and arm signals/etc...

Have the ride start out of a parking lot VS MOCO for better control out of the gates (to help handle the large amount of bikes).

I can help organized, but cannot 100% commit to the ride at this time.
