    Berthoud Pass

The has been a pretty lame spring and I've been waiting for the roads to get good enough to go over the divide, has anyone tried it and how was it?

    Thanks

If you ride it before they do road repairs, expect to fall. 2 weeks ago the road was so destroyed from winter that hitting the right pothole would probably take you down. Ride with caution.

You gotta be kidding me...expect to fall?

That's like saying don't ride on dirt, or you'll crash.

    Sorry I asked

Hope you like riding in the snow. It aint ready yet. Gonna be a while. Guess it would be fine if you have a dual sport and like freezing your cods off

I'd say early to mid June to be safe. I like riding that pass, and usually do so in the middle of the season.

The south side is way better than the north. The north is starting to look like Sqaw Pass with frost heaves and potholes. Of course one look outside the window says it won't be rideable for a month yet.

Sorry I answered. I was just giving you the truth. You want to see what I mean, go ride it for yourself. It's fucked up.

Speaking of which John...when are you coming back to civilization for a ride? Let's plan something.

    Re: Berthoud Pass

Where is this pass you speak of? I have gone through Loveland pass by Arapahoe basin a few times and its pretty good. Some days there's some wet spots but I have been cruzing through it. Also Hoosier pass south of breck is nice and dry. Nice tight turns. Hit me up if anybody wants to ride those!

Berthoud Pass would be Highway 40 between Empire and Winter Park.

I appreciate the info here on the condition, it was pretty bad late last year, I'll be waiting awhile then.
