Don't get me wrong, I love riding on the street and am not one of those that pushes the "only ride the track" philosophy, but tell me you don't ride fast in the canyons? You have already had incidents on the street? Yes if you ride the track you will start to push yourself but instead of doing it on a mountain road in the middle of nowhere you are on a clean surface with no idiot cages or clueless riders, no blind corners and very little chance of large wildlife jumping out in front of you. If you do happen to go down there is immediate medical assistance if needed, but the majority of crashes entail very little injury due to the required gear and the open runoff. I have pushed myself all year to my limits and have only fallen down once on a slow speed corner from contacting my kickstand bracket, which was soon after cut off. I picked the bike up and continued to ride.
I have developed and improved my riding skills on tracks over the last 6 years much more than all the time I have spent on the street. As you will hear from many track riders, it gives you a safer environment to get the need for speed fix and you will find you don't need to take the questionable chances in the canyons.

You are on a boat almost every day, what are you riding then?

Great day out on the high plains. Little chilly until you get going but then you warm up nicely.
