    I like my banana seat!

Oh yeah, another thing with the FZ6 - it has wider handlebars which provides the rider with more leverage. This is turn makes the bike more "flickable" in the turns.

It's not that I'm a fast rider, it's that my bike just makes it super easy to go fast

Another FZ rider here. I find it to be a great compromise between speed and comfort. Mine's an FZ-1 which is not a good beginners bike but the 6 would probably be great.

Have you taken a beginner rider's course?

    Good luck and welcome!

Actually there is another seat Corbin makes one, but I actually used the stock seat here MissBratt just took the vinyl off of it and added gel and the back part of the foam on the seat was removes and I added a cowl with a door to store things in. Like i said this bike was a heavily modified EX500r, but yes the saet can off the shelf buy a nicer one but still banana style though.

They makes seats for just about all bikes:

    Have fun.

captgoodvibes- Yes I have taken STARS in Idaho. I have my endorsement on my DL and everything. Just need a good sound bike,Some good teachers and I will be set! Clovis- Sounds like I am gonna have to find one of your bikes and sit on it. Not many shops here is Fort Collins have a selection. At least not acesmotorcycles or Tri city. Ghost-thanks for the info Brandi- LOL your so funny! I don't think I like banana style seats lol and I don't know if its the look or feeling like if I was going 50 I'd fly off. I was sent an email from Craigslist today about a bike and this guy said ALOT in the email. Anyone wanna volunteer to read it and explain in dummy terms what he is talking about? It is regarding a SV650 and pipes n exhaust and pegs and I don't even know. So If anyone up for it let me know Thanks everyone have a good day!

    ** More Info: http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams

    Hi -

I have a 2000 Blue Suzuki SV650. It has less then 10000 miles on it
and I am looking to sell it.

It has an aftermarket exhaust and the carburetors have been re-jetted
to accept the exhaust. Currently, it does not have a gauge cluster
(speedo, tach) but I will install one if the buyer so desires.

I am currently waiting on parts to finish the build (Passenger Pegs,
Passenger Seat and Frame Sliders) then I am selling it.

Let me know if you are interested.

    Thanks

    Chris

Second email:It has never been layed down. However, it did meet the unfortunate
side of a fence (previous owner). She did not put the kickstand down
(no idea why...) and it fell over and hit the fence. There is a dent
/ scratches on the left side of the tank but nothing that affects
performance. Tank does not leak or anything like that....

I have gone over the carbs and cleaned them out, replaced the oil, oil
filter and battery. Runs like a champ and pulls strong. Coolant has
    been flushed and replaced.

I will send you pictures around 5PM tonight.

    Thanks

    Chris

This seems to me that he's rebuilding the bike either after significant damage or for some reason someone took it apart and he bought the pieces. I would keep looking. There will be more clean bikes out there. Also, he may not have a clean title.

Or he bought it to turn it into a race bike and realized that racing is really expensive.

I would avoid that one.... And theres no sense on why the gauge cluster was removed race bike or not. Too many unknowns about its current and past ("to finish the build "?) condition.

Re: What to look for when buying bike?

I am just saying, if I were looking for a bike for a friend, that would be one of the bottom choices. Too many unknown things for me to even consider looking at it. Too many other bikes out there to choose from, I would try and find the buyer that is upgrading, or just selling to get extra cash....

A bike that is already running great and doesn't need any work. And no questions about it's history.

Yeah it is.... main thing is, don't rush. And don't settle, you're spending your hard earned money, get something you will like and be happy with.

But these are just my opinions, everyones will vary....

I wouldn't buy something that was a project or possible headache, while others would.

    +1

Slo's dead on. Never rush, never let excitement get the better of you--finding a good bike might take a while, but it's December, so you've got time.

As to that SV, run, do not walk away from it.

No reason to have to replace gauge clusters, passenger seats and pegs if it simply fell over into a fence. Run awaaaayyyy!!!

Yeah, looking nice for a new person though.... doesn't say too much unfortunately. Every new friend I have gets excited over any bike when they see it, unless it's in bits and pieces.
