    Stove Prairie Road Construction

I was going through some bid lists and a "Stove Prairie Road Realignment" was in there. Not sure what that entails, but it's about a $300,000 job. So SP might be a little busy this coming summer.

"...realignment of a short segment of Stove Prairie Road (County Road 27) at a steeply graded S-curve..."

Sounds like they're removing some fun from the road.

Hopefully they are replacing that odd colored pavement that is really slick.

You're probably thinking of Rist Canyon, that pavement is treacherous. I won't ride it.

Sounds like all they're doing is improving that tricky switchback turn. They can't be doing much for $300k, that's nothing when you're talking about moving dirt, compacting and paving.

    Re: Stove Prairie Road Construction

Not much you can do for $300K, probably just some shoulder widening or minor cut/fill. So instead of 10mph it might become a 20mph corner.

Rist Canyon has the slick pavement, and it's not part of Stove Prarie, but t's off of it at the school.

Hah! Sandy I'll agree with. There's usually some across the road from all the driveways. Plus, a lot of the locals are ASSHOLES, and screw with you when you're trying to get around them. They think it's "their road" instead of a public road.
