This looks like an awesome run! If I weren't such a newb I'd be all up in this. I don't think I'm up to par with guys who can ride 250 miles and not pass out!

The trick is to take 2 Advil at the MOCO and then 2 more again at lunch.

Come with man... I did this ride as a newb and I loved every minute of it.

Im down for the advil Ive learned my lesson! Ive only rode as far as Bear Creek to the top by Elk Mountain and then back to the DTC. I don't know if I'm pro enough to run 250 miles tho, only been riding 1.5 months with my sv650. Hoping for some more local short rides hopefully!

    Folks!

Here is a revised Google Map, thanks to the observant eye of Liv4Twisties. It doesn't really change the overall mileage much, but does add in a bit more twisty bits before the I-70 strafe out to Minturn.

Oh yeah... that and it keeps us on pavement.

So what's the KSU time, 8 or 9? I personally like 8 better but I'm down for either.

Re: 4th of July morning ride?!

I was planning on doing pretty much the same route tomorrow, but going up 285 to 9 and doing kenosha/hoosier passes on the front end. Looking at google maps... if you guys leave at 8:30, that should put you going thru Frisco around 10a. I'm gonna leave moco at 7:30 and see if I can catch up w/ you in Frisco. If not, I'll catch up/wait in Leadville for lunch. Anyone who wants a few more early morning miles is welcome to join. I'll be @moco 7:00-7:15, KSU at 7:30. Hopefully see you guys tomorrow!

Yeah man. I can meet you at Fay and we can bail at like 7:30. That'll give us time to get out to MOCO, gas up, have a coffee, and get into character.

The last time I rode this loop was with you. Wish I could catch the remake. At least my bike will be there.

To break up the freeway stretch you can always go over Loveland Pass, right before you get into Silverthorne take Swan Mountain Rd around the lake into Frisco, then hop back in 70 towards Minturn.

The Metz has told you to go ride his bike. The Metz has told you before to take that bitch on a 500 mile ride if you want to. The Metz doesn't care which ride you do. The Metz has spoken.

We can play it by ear and see what the group sentiment is. It's a long enough ride to get out there, even the most direct route and honestly I wanna get back in time to do all the family 4th stuff (and hopefully get in a nap before!).

If folks are still wanting for riding when we gas up at the bottom of 91, we'll have plenty of options on the way back. I'm thinking I'll be quite ready to get back home at that point.
