I'm hoping to get my fiance out to see some good fall colors for the first time this weekend. I probably can commit to being out 4-6 hours including gas and lunch stops.
Suggestions on routes?

"When you on the track, you have to be enjoying the moment, you have to be flowing, "Be water, My Friend". You try to be the fastest, and it seems a little beet estupid, 20 riders making the same way, lap by lap, but this simple thing: is very complicated." #99
depending on the route, leave around 9-10a... backup choice is P2P.

When I know where I'm going I'll decide when I'm leaving.

P2P is one of my favorite spots to see the colors, however take heed so do a lot of cagers and if you hit it at the wrong time it can be miserable.
I've got more flavor than a packet of macaroni.
nice...
Suggestion: You could do the I-70 to Copper --> Leadville --> Buena Vista -->285 to Denver loop in 4-6 hours. Some nice scenery.
Or cut it short and take hoosier pass
Or cut it REALLY short and take Guanella pass (if it's still open and you don't mind a little dirt)
Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.
Hwy 24 has some great potential for color, and of course, Kenosha pass on 285
When life throws you curves, aim for the apex
