    Leather suit alterations...

I know there was a thread about someone getting boots fixed, but I needed to see if anyone had a cheap contact to shorten the sleeves of my new leather jacket, and actually take in the sleeves a bit, and also move the velcro patch further up on the knee (instead of too far down).

I went to my normal tailor and she quoted me $80.00 to do both. Not sure if this is a good price or someone out there can do better.

+1 for Nate. Also check out Carleens of Golden.

FWIW it cost me about that for Nate to replace a zipper on my jacket and patch some holes in a pair of riding pants.

I don't know this guy Nate Butler, but I do believe that riding gear requires specialty alterations considering that normal stitching will tear apart MUCH easier in a crash/slide.

Does Nate deal in this sort of thing? Or I suppose my assumption here could be way off base. I've been considering this sort of thing as well because I've been losing weight consistently for the past couple months and eventually I would need to look at having some of my gear taken in.

+1 good experience at Carleens for zipper and related work.

IIRC they close a little early at Carleens so check their schedule before you head over if you decide to go there.

Nate's specialty is leathers, he repairs and makes custom suits for lots of racers here. He's got all the special sewing machines and materials.

Sadly no it was getting tighter and I totally blame my wife being pregnant for that! lol. I ended up getting another 2 piece so that I could have a leather jacket as well. Makes me mad cause I really wanted to lose the weight and have it fit.
