    Cool Traction control stories

I'll start, even though my story is lame...I was near Evergreen, in "urban" mode, went over a manhole cover in a slow turn, and happened to notice the traction control lights flashing. Told you it wasn't a good story!

Anyone have any interesting traction control stories? Did it save the day? Put you in the ditch? Confirm that the pretty light still works?

Going down a gravel covered trail on the F650GS, couldn't figure out why braking felt all wierd. Once I turned OFF the ABS, all was well.

I've tried multiple levels of Amy Lou's TC, but have yet to get anything to activate. I'm probably doing it wrong.

Bring her to HPR on an open lapping day - I'm betting we can get it to "activate"

My sub division is all dirt roads, it's kinda fun playing with the setting and watch the dash light up like a xmas tree. Kawi's TC works pretty well, ecu cuts timing and fuel so fast!

Barn saw mine kick in when we were riding to breakfast for the Saint Patrick's Day Parade. Very cold tire with a lot of throttle, I don't know if it saved the day but I'm glad I had it turned on.

    Re: Traction control stories

I didn't realize that was TC kicking in. I definitely saw the gas-n-snap moment, but thought you just cut throttle after you wicked it up a bit to much.

    Ape's are awesome. =)

No shit, every time I open the throttle the wheel is bobbing and the light flashing. It's addicting.

On a side note, I've got two stories of it saving my ass.

I was turning onto the on ramp for I25, and on the throttle a little as I accelerated through the turn. At the intersection I hit the white crosswalk stripe. I didn't think I had the throttle opened that much, but the tire started spinning. It barely stepped out before TC stepped in. TC already had the bike straightened out before I had realized what had happened and prepared to take corrective measure.

Other time I was on Hwy 96, came off of a real slow speed corner and started increasing throttle. A common problem on the big RR, gave it too much and same thing as above. TC caught it and had everything sorted out by the time I was reacting.

I love having it. Because both times it stepped in I wasn't expecting the rear tire to slip, and it had caught me off guard. It's fun on dirt roads too. I also love the ABS.

Fine Barn, way to ruin my story.
I've noticed my TC light come on a handful of times but that was the only time I actually noticed my wheel slip.
My wheelie control light used to flash all the time back when I had it enabled.
