My two years of saving start now...

    Mission's future

    RideApart: What’s the next step?
Mark Seeger: 48 months. We’re on track to deliver a bike that outperforms the one you just rode on range and acceleration and all that stuff, but for around a $15,000 price point. That’s 48 months away. We want to make this performance accessible for most people. Our volume only needs to be in the very low four digits to make that work.

I was thinking the same thing when I read that. I'm so game for an electric bike. They just need to make them interesting at a reasonable price point.

Like wise. I have considered building one myself, but then I like to live.

I can't see myself on an electric. That being said, it's a beautiful bike. Very well done. Looks like an RC8

I've always thought electric (or at least hybrid) dirt bikes and quads will make a lot of sense for hunting/camping etc.
I have no idea what you're talking about.

A rep from zero was in town about 2 years ago. He was doing test rides at some high school in littleton. I rode the dual sport and full mx bike. It was a shitload of fun

Zero noise and emission pollution. I imagine an electric quad would be great for hunting.

After bringing two bikes up to Denver and riding around for a couple days, I can't wait for an electric bike. My S1000RR in the mountains felt like an R6 at sea level. Screw power loss.

I was at the same demo as Joe. The Zero bikes have greatly improved since then. I checked out the 2013 S model a couple weeks ago and was impressed. Range is not quite there (60 miles or so) and cost is still too high considering the range. It will get better and I want one.

The range and lack of recharging abilities along routes are definitely major issues. I'd be very interested in the electric sportbike, but where am I supposed to recharge the bike when I'm on P2P or heading down to Bishop's Castle?

Sold it. I'll probably take the Duke to IMI once or twice, but I think I'm going to go play in the dirt next season.

The Zero bikes are cool but the Mission bike is a whole other level I feel. I really want the Zero bikes to make sense but even now, that 60 mile hwy range is just about the minimum I need daily for commute and any errands.

As for the performance, the E-bikes will be slightly, slight faster up here due to lower wind resistance! Finally, we can be on the same level as everyone else!

Electric dirt bikes would be great... unless you're in the woods, on a rainy day with nothing but a solar charger. Of course you could just go back to camp and fire up the gas powered generator to charge it.

I'm sure as the technology matures prices will go down and the product would be more viable. Look at the Tesla model S, there's a car that starts at $50K-$100K and competes with the gas powered luxury sedans.

If you have property, even in town, the Zero MX model would be ideal. And think about all the places you could ride the DS model silently....almost anywhere under the cover of darkness. They are all city only bikes til the range improves.

You can get a BRD Redshift now for $15k and that thing looks entertaining. For that price, I want a little more than that, but I'm sure it's still a bunch of fun.
