Good but cheap lodging in Durango?

Thinking about possibly taking a ride down to Durango next week and staying for a day or 2. I've never been and I knew some of you have so thought I'd ask. Also any other tips for that area, and heading to/from this time of year are welcome.

I've stayed here a number of times.

I prefer to take Hwy 550 there, 160 over Wolf Creek Pass, Hwy 149 over Slumgullion Pass, Lake City and back to Hwy 50. Good weather forecast or you'll get snowed on this time of year.

Thank you both. Looking to be under $100/night. Sully I'll look through those.

Never stayed in them but south of town there are a bunch of chain hotels. I've been told stay away from the Spanish Trails Inn, reviews are pretty terrible.

I did a road trip there a few months back and stayed at the Best Western (Mountain Shadows). Its a block from Durango Brewing and really cool pizza place with an outdoor patio. Pool and hot tube was also a bonus.

Best Western is very biker friendly so I tend to stay there when its within the same price range. http://www.bestwestern.com/rewards/b...de-rewards.asp
