    Dry camping with an RV

Anyone here have some favorite dry camping spots they'd care to share? I'm looking for some good (read free or almost free) spots to take my camper. Spots with fishing/swimming and some light mountain biking would be good. It needs to be reachable with a 27' camper in tow, so I can't go rock-crawling to get there

Rampart? Bueller takes his toy hauler into there.
Moab, lots of RV sites near Gold Bar Rim and on BLM campgrounds.

I'm curious what you mean by dry camping.. How do you wet camp? lol.

We've gone to a place in Eagle that is right on a lake, and is in the mountains, super beautiful with plenty of fishing and float tubing and scenery! Also plenty of trails to bike and/or walk. I can get the actual name of it from my friend if you like.

Yes please. Dry camping is without hookups for an RV. Only the water you bring and 12v batteries. Egads!

Thanks. Moab for sure but I'd like to find places within a couple hours of Denver for quick weekend trips.

It's big enough for any 5th wheel, bumper-tow you can bring. Just drive around and pick a spot. All open land, great views, close to the Res for fishing.

More on dry camping. How do you make it so that your water and black tanks last say a week? I mean, with two people we found that on about the 4th day we're thinking about having to go to the dump station. Once we hit the Oregon coast, I'd like to dry camp next to a beach but am worried we'd lose our precious spot if we left to dump our tanks.

I'm not sure as I haven't done it yet. I'm planning a few trips with my brother-in-law, which will make it easier to manage the water usage than with my wife. We'll fill the 30 gallon fresh water tank but also take several 2.5 gallon drinking water jugs. The water usage will be mostly for the flush and a little bit of dirty dishes. We'll use paper plates, etc. as much as possible.
