Yes Dave is right, the Evergreen side is perfect, road surface is 100%. Just have to watch out for angry bicycles. Watch the weather though, Saturday is supposed to be rainy.

The other side from Echo lake to Idaho Springs kind of sucks in comparison. I would recommend taking Bear Creek from Moco up to Evergreen, then taking my own little secret route on Upper Bear Creek to Witter Gulch to Stagecoach Blvd back to Evergreen Pkwy, and on up to Squaw Pass Rd (103). I don't even do the other side anymore, I just go up to Juniper pass overlook and turn around....the new asphalt is that good.
I saw this route when I did some googling, Is that fully paved by chance? I wouldnt mind going up the Evergreen side to Mt Evans and then back that route if its all paved. Either way I dont care the route we go I am in on this ride for sure.

Yes, it is all paved. The section through upper Bear Creek, Witter Gulch, and Stagecoach adds a little extra fun, instead of just taking Evergreen Pkwy straight to Squaw Pass Rd. It's just a big loop that starts and ends on Evergreen Pkwy. Much like taking the Brook Forest/Shadow Mtn loop around Hwy 73.

Road this a couple of times since last fall this week. The Idaho Springs side has definitely become more frost heaved.

I am down to ride with you guys Saturday morning. We will need to be careful on Squaw pass, I have been with 3 riders that have gone down on that road this season due to gravel.... but a fun one to rail up and down 9:00am is kinda late though you guys interested in starting earlier? I will need to be back in town around lunch time or so...

I'm up for whatever time, but majority wins. Do we need a poll or maybe people can just reply?

I am definitely interested in earlier, say, 8:00am KSU. Too many cyclists and jagoffs on the road after that. Rode it on Monday and the road was in great condition. Dave's route sounds fun, just been doing Kerr Gulch lately off bear creek but new routes are fun.

And Nguyen, here's the top. It's beautiful up there but cold and windy, at least on Monday it was, and the road up to it is beat up with some real bad drivers going really slow. Still a fun experience.

So.....I think everyone needs to chime in on their preferred KSU time right?

    Choices are: 8 or 9

As far as the rain on Sat, as of right now it's predicted to be in the afternoon (4pm and after).

Keep in mind too that it will be a bit chilly, even with a 9am start. How about we just split the difference and call it 8:30 KSU?

8:30 works for me. Driving in to work this morning though, I'm really starting to wonder what tomorrow is going to be like LOL.

Everyone still in? 8:30? I'm assuming we cancel if it's raining?

Have a safe ride guys! The Evergreen side of Squaw Pass was repaved last year and it's been in a pristine condition all season this year. I was rode it 2 weeks ago.

So you asked everyone to make it earlier and everyone has accommodated you and then you back out. Wow

exactly! I was down with the 9am KSU but now that could be changed with the posts. I cant really get up and out and way over there any sooner than a 9am KSU. With the talk of all the possible cold, it would be better to get some warm up anyways.

Alright...executive decision. Since I started the dang thread. I'm leaving it as is. As the title and original post suggests. If you can't make it, no hard feelings, hopefully we can all ride together on a different ride.

Looks like Squaw Pass, this Saturday Sept 6th. Meet at MOCO. KSU 9:00 a.m.
