The only real advantage of staying at the hotel is to make things easier -- ie, we can get breakfast as a group, leave as a group, dinner as a group, etc.

There are more hotels in nearby Spearfish, SD. Deadwood has a lot of casinos and is somewhat of a touristy town. I work for a bank based in Sioux Falls, SD and one of my friends at the bank is taking a trip to Deadwood that weekend with some of his friends and we were going to get together over the weekend for drinks and good times.

I just called the Deadwood Super 8 to see if they have a roll away bed - no go. They're completely booked that weekend.

But you might be in luck - I got a text from Hotcarcus (Sal) yesterday that he's almost certain to come which means we'll have 6 people, assuming Al is a for sure go -- which means you would be able to split the hotel cost with another person.

Take a look at Kayak.com or any of the other hotel searches. Hotels in Hot Spring for night 1 are easier to come by.
