Just wondering if anybody could answer a question for me. Without getting into details, would my full-coverage State Farm insurance cover my bike if anything were to happen out on the track?

I would assume it's the same for street cars being tracked, that is.. NO. Unless... some carriers have a clause that provides coverage for accidents that happen during the course of a training session (driving school).

That totally depends on your policy. It can always be done for an additional fee. However, a crash on the track is actually a crash in the canyons...
Some companies will drop you if they find out it's on the track. Bandimere will actually notify your insurance for you. So definitely don't crash there!!

Bummer. Looks like rule #1 will have to be stringently followed come June
Thanks for the info Dean. Perhaps I could surreptitiously ask around the Farm and see what their options are.

I've also heard that a track day is considered a "test and tune" and your vehicle will be covered. It will not be covered if you are competing though. Check with your agent and ask about test and tune.

Be polite. Be professional. But be prepared to kill everyone you meet.

I remember jon (player 2) say something about totaling a bike while on the track and insurance.

Don't know first hand, but I think a lot of accidents happen "right outside" the track gates? Don't know what the consequences are for embellishing the truth? Some people bring their bike home and had an "accident" in the canyon. I also think some policies are okay with it as long as you are not "racing". Just get a full copy of the policy.
Yeah lots of gray area. Competition for either time or cash & prizes is obvious. Most policies state no coverage if the vehicle is used in a race. But to some insurers, crashing at 50mph during a non-timed "riding school / test & tune" is different than crashing at 50mph during a "race".

Rgr. Will check with BC/BS. I'm aiming to bust my cherry on the June chicane day, so I've got some time to get everything sorted

Also- remember to think of your bike as more of a tool. Accidents happen- and plastic is expensive. Get over it. This easier said than done- I have still yet to buy race bodywork. I just completed my first track day with Chicane- it was a lot of fun and a lot more of a controlled environment than I had thought it was going to be. Breaking everyone into different groups was a HUGE for me... and I think it saved me from a lot of unwarranted anxiety. Just go at your own pace and a notch SLOWER. I promise you will be worn out at the end of the day- and not a scratch on the bike.
Appreciate the assurance moto
