"A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self- preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to written law would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property, and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the end to the means."

Ha, ha...hmmm...I was gonna say if you get shots of surfers riding waves, well it might fit..."riding", get it...lol.
It's ok, it just means that I need to actually ride out to the Northwest coast to enjoy it fully.

mayo....
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain."

For sure, if you get the chance with a bike you need to visit the NW coast and then head up toward the mountains...there are some great roads and scenery around Mt. St Helens and Mt Rainier...not to mention the North Cascades! OK...sorry, but that is home for me and thinking about it makes me a little homesick.

I was out in Seattle last April and on the flight coming home, we flew over those mountain tops...it was a clear day...I was just awestruck with the beauty of it all. I lived in Cheney, WA as a kid and have been through most of Canada from Bella Coola to Quebec City...and accept for the plains, damn it's got some amazing scenery as well.
I also want to ride through Glacier Ntl Park...was there as a kid, too. Another destination is the Icefields Pkwy in Alberta.
I could go on and on...
I think I should try and narrow my focus to one place one year, and somewhere else the next year and so on.

Nice Fall colors, Dirk. Did you find that place along P2P? If I had a dual-sport, there's some pretty cool ghost towns out in them thar hills I'd like to explore and take some photos of. In the meantime, I played around a little bit with my outdated PhotoChop with this photo of the bridge along Battle Mountain Rd...this little road goes into Redcliffe...
