10k miles.. what do I need to look out for

Well I just realized the other day that I have just over 10k on my bike now. And I was wondering what kind of maintenance I should be getting done for said miles other than just basic oil change and possibly spark plugs. Still pretty new to bike work so I'm not sure how detailed it gets as the miles get up there.

Do you have the owner's manual? Should say what's due for maintenance there.
This is off a K3, but the K7 should be similar:

I do have the manual but its in the back of my ol ladys car and I keep forgetting to grab it.. It was just something that crossed my mind this morning so I figured I'd grab some opionions. For some reason I had in my head that the valves had to be adjusted every 10k, must have heard that from someone a while ago or something. Sounds like its just mostly oil/filter change and give it a good once over.

Technically plugs, air filter and oil change. Then check on your lines, brake pad life, tires and tire pressures, fluid levels and just a well overall safety check and you should be good.

Suspension parts normally are on the decline around the 10k mark as well. Might be worth an oil swap in the forks, and maybe a once-over on your shock, if you want to be extra on top of it. But then again, the K3 chart above shows that inspection is called for at 14.5, so YMMV.

If I recall correctly valves on a K7 are at 15,000 miles. Check chain and sprockets also to the above things mentioned IMO

Good call on the chain and sprockets.

Ya I'm planning on changing out the sprockets to -1/+2 and getting a new chain here shortly as it is but good call. How difficult is it to change the oil in the shocks? Does it require that they be pulled off the bike completely?

One shock and you will need to pull it off the bike. You will need some special equipment to do it. Better off taking it to a local shop to get serviced once off the bike.
