Spent a hour or so shooting and editing in lightroom. I really need to find more time to learn more about "proper" photography and keep teaching myself lightroom!!

My 2-cents... invest in a cheap tripod, a cheapo bulb trigger, and a flashlight (all of which can be had for under $50 combined), and read Alex Koloskov's tutorial on light painting for products...

You will minimize the glare issues, and really control every aspect of the light that illuminates your product.
