Right? Tons of people that could give a shit less about others all in the name of making more money...
GREED...It's the American way.
what if you value personal gain?
I have no idea what you're talking about.
Yup, such a dying trait....sucks!
Just like the one "treat people like you would like to be treated" is another dying one.

And know that while you might be happy with your "personal gain" you might not be happy with everything else around you.
There are other things to "value" that will get you to the same places with more security. People want fast and will lie, cheat, steal and cut corners to get there.
Well, I think it's sad that we value money above all else as a society.
It's been the American way for generations.

I'm surprised people still know what the meaning of the word is... Certainly fading by the minute
I really think it is worse in big cities than small towns. I grew up in a small town and was not uncommon down there to go out of your way to help someone. Even now when I visit there it is the same thing and everyone still says "hi" to eachother even if they don't know you.

Other words people dont know much about... their "word" - when you say you are going to do something, do it. Dont just leave people hanging. "Apology" - If you fuck up, say you are sorry. Instead people make mistakes and then defend them.
Its worse than "dog eat dog". Its a cutthroat world world full of people that could more or less care about the person next to them, even more so if they dont know them. We have gotten so far off track and people are almost more proud of being "successful" than being a good person.
