    2014 season MotoGP/WSBK events - who's going where

Just curious who's thinking of trips to Austin (MotoGP), Indy (MotoGP) or Laguna (WSBK)

What with USGP Laguna and WSBK Miller gone from the calendar, anyone planning trips to the remaining ones on the calendar? Tossing around the idea of either Austin or Laguna at this time. IIRC Kawasakirob is cornerworking Austin.

AMA Pro.. WTF? Only 5 rounds all in the east coast? WTH happened to the west coast?

I am not going to be traveling but as to your last point DMG is doing a very good job of killing roadracing. Between the lack of television coverage and now only 5 or maybe 6 races plus all on the east coast how can you get interested? There are some great comments on their own site: http://www.amaproracing.com/rr/news/...#disqus_thread

Ah crud Miller isn't happening? I was interested in going out to Utah for that since my parents live nearby and I'd have a place to stay. Is that permanent or is it just for this year?

May be doing Indianapolis again, this past year was my 1st time out there and man what fun that was. Wish I had enough to go to COTA, heard it was phenomenal.

    Re: 2014 season MotoGP/WSBK events - who's going where

I would take Austin in April rather than Indy in the summer. :\ Reports from others on CSC it that COTA is quite fan friendly.

I'll be attending both Austin and Indy. Would love to attend WSBK, but may have to pencil it in for next year. To many trips planned! Looking forward to seeing how the riders enjoy the newly paved surface at Indy.

Miller was dropped from the WSBK calendar prior to last season when Laguna Seca made an offer they couldn't refuse. I was pretty sad about it last year because my parents are also nearby, and Miller is a good track. Sadly, it just can't draw the same amount of spectators as Laguna Seca.

    Re: 2014 season MotoGP/WSBK events - who's going where

What is really sad for the track is that the only national events on their calendar is the pro motocross and a very junior Nascar class that is running in conjunction with a SCCA event. Their big motorcycle weekend is a joint WERA/USBA club race and the primary event of their big car weekend is a SCCA club race.

    Re: 2014 season MotoGP/WSBK events - who's going where

That totally blows. I cannot make a drive to Laguna Seca or all the way to Austin for Motogp but would be willing to go to Utah for the Miller Superbike race and could have a place to stay at my parents while there. I read up on it online and appears that its forever done as far as SBK coming back to Miller. NOW what we need is a damn track here in Denver for Motogp to come to the midwest

I am heading down to Austin this year. I was accepted as a volunteer track marshal!

They blocked off a set of rooms for us at a Drury Inn near the interstate and I already booked the room. I can't decide if I want to drive my car or R6 (yes, I can go that far on a R6).

Were rooms easy to find? My buddy and I were planning to possibly make it this year as well and I was curious if the room rates are outrageous due to the event.

    Re: 2014 season MotoGP/WSBK events - who's going where

Can't seem to find anything on the web about COTA related events during the Austin MotoGP. Does anyone who went last year, recall any in-town events like bike nights etc?

That's really not bad at all. But you should know CSC folk better than that. Rental car doesn't mean much. Is it a Yaris or a BMW?

Cota is a sick track...loved watching the GP from the tower...could see every corner(sick birds eye view) but i love going to indy...nothing like being able to bring in your own beer cooler and sit there all day in the grass drinking a cold one and not having to pay 6 bucks per beer
