Riding home from work I had something new happen.
Had two riders pass me on the right so they could be ten feet closer to the line of cars we were stuck behind.
What the hell is wrong with people

Street riding just sucks all around. Maybe from California but they forgot they couldn't lane split

Same with some idiot on a yellow/black gixxer by work. He almost hit me on my way to work on my car last week and I bumped into the idiot on my way to lunch again and he was riding like a complete fuckhead

It's all the people moving to Denver from California... they're driving the cost of housing sky high in Denver.
"If not us, who? If not now, when?"
Natural Selection will probably catch up with these guys or girls before they are able to be reached by someone to get them on the right track.
I wish there was a way to get these individuals better education to try to keep this to a minimum.

The Harley riders were just trying to keep their air-cooled motors cooler by moving.
Seriously, I think Cali riders for the most part, ride pretty well in traffic; they know how to lane split without being jerks. Never had a problem when we rode out there. The asshat types like above exist everywhere. We ran into some "fluff ryder" types in STL, Icon vests and chrome helmets, bouncing off their rev limiters on the freeway.

I guess since the thread is about canyon etiquette, I will chime in with some car issues I had while riding my bike with a group this weekend in the canyons.
On P2P towards Nederland the guys ahead of me passed a car in a straight, no issues just as we normally would and the approaching gold truck whipped out his middle finger to flip the rest of us off as he passed to opposite way, not really happy I guess that some of the riders ahead had merged into traffic to safely pass. Nothing was done wrong, but I dont know what the fuck the driver's problem was.
Later on P2P I was following behind another rider who is also on here, he safely passed a green Isuzu by going into oncoming traffic to safely pass, and when it came my turn to do the same, the asshat in the Isuzu decided to veer his car left across the double yellow like as if to block me or knock me over as I was passing him. Neither I nor the other ride had done anything wrong.
So sometimes its the fucking villagers in the canyons that just don't seem to like us bikers. I try to ride respectfully myself but some of the riders out there I guess give us a bad name, resulting in car/truck drivers not liking us too much.

I rarely think of motorcycles without a little yearning. They are about moving, and humans, I think, yearn to move – it’s in our cells, in our desires. We quiet our babies with cyclic movement, and we quiet ourselves by going.

Sorry that was typed wrong, I meant that the driver merged left across the center yellow line. It wasn't a double yellow at all, it was dashed. Putting his car half way into oncoming traffic and regular traffic was a dick move to block a rider, could easily have tan me out with his mirror
So there was no reason to frown upon anything

I'm still frowning.

To each their own then. Anyone who rides with me knows I ride pretty timid anyways. I am not aggressive. I actually hate passing cars. SO if I'm going to make the move to pass it'll be where its safe to do so. So I know we weren't in the wrong. Fuck that guy in his Isuzu.
Ride on good sirs

The fucking villagers don't like you speeding on their precious canyon roads and scaring them and their grandmothers
I got flipped the bird by a bicyclist as I was coming down Deer Creek a few weeks ago. He was riding up the canyon and I looked over and there the asshat was,
flipping me the bird for no reason.. wtf.. I was totally riding slow... And on the Season Opener ride, a few of us got flipped the bird by some douche-kabob going the opposite
direction.. I was like wtf was that for??? Granted, I've done some not so innocent stuff on the street, but I try to be respectful to cagers.. as long as they don't try to run me
off the road

Do not put off living the life you dream of. Next year may never come. If we are always waiting for something to change...
Retirement, the kids to leave home, the weather or the economy, that's not living. That's waiting!
Waiting will only leaves us with unrealized dreams and empty wishes.

I have my spirited times just like anyone else.... but when around other cagers or bicyclists, I try and be respectful. Unless the occasional cyclists who like to ride 2-3 wide.....
And then you got the minivan doing 5mph over the speed limit, I decide to get around it and get screamed at..... Had a few words with the occupants later, pretty much in a not so nice way of saying, you can speed in a minivan, something built to haul around families at the speed limit, but my 10 over on a sportbike is more dangerous? With a few choice words inserted into that sentence.
A canyon ride isn't complete without getting the bird from at least a few drivers.
