Deleted Scene: Durango and the Iron Horse:

The memo that the rest of you missed.
Corbin Scouts Troop 1157 Official Dress Code:

All scouts must be ATTGATT during riding hours. (see diagram f-4i)

After hours dress code is: Hawaiian or otherwise loud party shirt, shorts, riding boots with matching black socks. Left hands should be decorated with a beverage of choice. Remember, you represent the troop. Wear it with pride and take no shitt!
I left the camera in the other uniform, so you'll have to use imagination.

    Choo Choo!

Sightings of the coal powered steam locomotive should be accepted as a good omen, like the eagle and the bear.

    Long live the buddy system!

RYBO felt the call to ride as well.

Not a cage in sight. Good timing!

    clear in all directions, actually.

Firing blindly in all directions, desperately trying to find some scenery.

    Splitting with the scoutmaster

Had to say goodbye to N_N in Ridgeway after 2nd breakfast.
Glad to hear your ride home was a good one!

Scene missing, North Rim & Gunnison.

Batteries dead, brain & limbs fatiguing, I took the afternoon off from snapping. The Black Canyon is simply not a place to multitask (for me, at least). For that section of the ride I even turned my music and scanner off.

This was the last pic that wasn't sky, thumb or instrument cluster.

I'm sure there were more. We were all packin' cameras.

    One loud Hawaiian shirt...

    Accompanied with those shorts...

And you've got the makings of a true-to-form "Corbin Scout". Please refer back to this page to view the full-blown ensemble...

Agreed. I kept the iPod going, but almost beat you guys to the bottom when I spent a little too long enjoying the scenery in one turn early on. From there on out I decided a little more focus and a little less gawking would probably be in my best interests. I did stop a couple times for a minute and take it in, though.

    Re: 1st (annual?) SoWeCo Ride - June 30/July 1 - Fricken awesome!

Some interesting trivia about where we rode...

The Monarch-Agate Pass road was built with some protest from citizens on the eastern slope of the pass. The highway engineers had decided that the highway had to be built above the towns of Arbourville and Garfield to catch more of the sun's rays. This meant the highway had to be built over and through their cemeteries.

Frank Gimlett, a former proprietor of the Salida Opera House and writer of a series of paperback books called Over The Trails Of Yesterday, was greatly disturbed about the highway department's decision. He claimed in one of his books (Book Six) that the highway department with "fiendish glee" dug up and crushed the bones of departed pioneers in the middle of the night. The highway department, Gimlett claimed, did not want to bother with careful removal and relocation of the cemeteries. Gimlett proclaimed the Monarch-Agate Pass highway to be "The Ghost Highway Of The Rockies."

I wouldn't dare say this is off topic. You're just too fast for us to get many pics of you. These photos essentially show what you looked like on the whole ride, sans the signals and tail pack. If I were clever or talented, I'd just photochop the lights and luggage into it for you.

Shuweet! Yep, I'd say that's about what PG looked like as she took off ahead and around the next turn.

Hey, is anyone still feeling this way?...I'm still basking in the memories of the past weekend.

I'm really glad I went! I'll be working in Thornton for 20 days, so no riding for quite some time! Love the Race pics PG! I got to watch your luggage hang on to your bike for dear life most of the trip!

    Group Pic?

Um, I seem to remember a group pic being taken up on one of the passes on day one. So, are we gonna get a chance to see it...or did I brake yet another camera?

I was showing off my m00bs in one of those. It would have to be labeled NSFW!

Sorry that I missed the picnic. I didn’t get back in town til 7 p.m. Great ride and our route is in excellent shape. I hit the Black Mesa at 6:30 p.m. on Friday...man, was it cool! We leave for Gunnison on Friday to do it on bicycles.
