Do you find them hot and uncomfortable in the summer months? I am trying to decide if I should go with a pair of good gauntlets for full time use or get some shorty gloves since summer is here. I am looking at some gauntlets from Spartan Leathers and they seem to have a lot of perforation but I just don't know how cool they will actually be. The protection is nice but I don't want to be uncomfortable on my daily rides.
I wear my GP Pros all the time. They get a little toasty, but whatever. Sweat wipes off.. rash doesn't.

I wear my Rev'it gauntlets all the time. Never paid attention to how hot my hands felt in the summer, so I guess they've worked fine these last 2 years in warm temps.

yup... like others said, I've never noticed the difference in the summer. Now, non-insulated gloves in the winter suck!
I have a pair of summer gloves that go on road trips with me. The only time I wear them is when my regular gloves are soaked from the rain and I don't have time to dry them out before continuing my ride.

You can find gauntlet gloves with good ventilation for summer use: perforations along the sides of the fingers, mesh vents or scoops across the knuckles.
I wear gauntlets on the street, but I have a pair of shortys for dual sporting.

If you're wearing gloves that come to your jacket sleeve, what's the difference in temp anyway? Also, if you're focusing on your hands being too warm in the summer then that's attention you could be paying to the road & riding

I have lots of different gloves. Summer I have some 3/4 length leather fieldsheer. Not gauntlet, but do cover the wrist. Most leather gloves have good venting. I don't know that I've ever been too hot with gloves? Spring/fall I wear rain gloves because they block the wind. Winter I wear snowmobile gloves.
I only ever wear gauntlets as well. I just like the extra protection they afford to your wrist. They don't feel especially hot to me, maybe I'm just used to them.
Always gauntlets. They take an extra 10 seconds to put on and I don't think they are any hotter

I almost purchased a pair of those the other day from the Triumph dealer. They didn't have a medium in stock and the large was borderline too large but they seemed decent for the price. What do you think of them?
I also had a revelation riding home today in the heat. I think that no matter how much venting a glove has, if the ambient air is still hot, I am still going to be hot regardless. I didn't realize this before as today was the first hot day I have been out on the bike. May as well go for protection and safety.

I ended up with the larges...I normally wear mediums for that "like a glove" fit, but the larges were there and it was a total impulse buy.
the dual layer in the palm is nice as well as the padding on the outside of the hand, and the longer cuff stays inside the sleeve of my jacket. I have been using them for touring and canyons, and while they aren't quite as substantial as my GP Pros, they are tons better than other short gloves I have seen
For just around town I wear short Astars , if i'm hitting up a ride or going to the canyons I wear the Joe rocket Gauntlets

90% of the time I wear gauntlets. if it's super hot or I'm going on a short ride I wear mechanics gloves (leather palms). Usually in the summer it's cooler in the mtns anyway

I wear MX gloves with leather palms and leather on the knuckles. Comfortable as shit.
I would probably wear gauntlets if I could find a pair that weren't bulky, uncomfortable, crampy, and either too tight or too loose (giggity).

I have worn the spidi penta gauntlet gloves in the past and never felt any different (temp wise) than summer wrist gloves, except for obviously less protection.
